What is the I-9 form?
Federal law requires that all employers must complete and retain the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form for all employees after Nov. 6th, 1986. the I-9 form helps employers to verify their employee’s identity and employment authorization. King Mobile Notary Service offers I-9 form verification service to ease the employer’s task to verify the documents of new hiring, including the case of remote hires where new employees are far away.
The I-9 form is not notarized, however most employers prefer or require a notary public to be their authorized representative and to complete the I-9 form because of our integrity with annual background checks and knowledge about screening and verifying documents. Therefore, we complete the I-9 form as an authorized representative of the employer, not in the capacity of a notary public.
Common Documents needed for I-9 Verification

Documents that satisfy both (1) for identity verification and (2) for authorization to work
US passport Permanent resident card or “Green card”
Documents that satisfy only (1) for identity verification
US driver’s license Voter registration card U.S. military card
Documents that satisfy only (2) for authorization to work
Social Security card Original copy of birth certificate Employment authorization document issued by the DHS
In a nutshell, if you have a U.S. passport, you don’t have to present another ID. Otherwise, you will need to present two documents such as your driver’s license and Social Security card.
